Girls On The Run

The days & times the volunteers would need to be available are:

Tues/Thurs from 3:15 - 4:45 from Sept 5 - Nov 17.
Please contact Trish at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
The first thing I would like to say is that volunteers DO NOT have to be runners!  We are not a competitive running program & we have girls of varying fitness levels.  We are a life skills program that uses running games and activities as the tool to teach valuable lessons.  Our participants are 3rd-6th grade girls so experience working with children is more important than any physical ability.  We just need extra hands.  Below is a list of the Junior Coach duties outlined on our website, gotrswmo.org under the Volunteer tab.
Our fall program starts next week on Tues 9/5 so I would love to hear from you soon.
Serve as a role model for program participants
Assist with setting up and breaking down of games and lessons
Provide one-on-one attention to program participants
Participate in games and workouts with the girls
Lead an activity with assistance and supervision of the Head Coach if desired
Participate in the Girls on the Run 5K

Hello Everyone,

My name is Jennifer Nigro; I’m the Coordinator of Volunteers for Audio-Reader, an audio information service for people who have trouble reading standard print due to vison loss, physical or learning disability, mobility challenges, and age. As some of you know, we are getting ready to officially launch service in Springfield, MO. This will begin with offering the Springfield News-Leader on our Telephone Reader service (area grocery ads are also available). To that end, we are recruiting volunteer readers, and will be at the Springfield library on Thursday, September 15 from 11-3:30 to hold reader auditions. Please help share the attached information about our audition day. Once we have volunteers in place, we’ll be able to start offering service to the area!  Feel free to contact me with any questions.
