Letter from Mrs. Skahan 12-17-17

December 17, 2017

Dear SCHS Families,

Good afternoon.  We enter the third week of Advent, a week that we begin to rejoice for the coming of the Christ Child.  Your student will be rejoicing also for the end of the semester!  Both are great reasons to Rejoice!  It has been a great semester and the SCHS faculty and staff thank you for your support and especially for sharing your child with us.

We have one final service project this week.  We are collecting household items and furniture for local refugees.  There are crates outside of the academic office for students to drop things off.  These items do not have to be new but clean.  If anyone would like to make a monetary donation, items will be purchased with the money and donated.  Checks may be made to SCHS.  I have attached a flyer for the items being needed.  Thank you.

Please at this time, check your student’s lunch balance.  It is mandatory that all fees are paid before the semester exams.  Students will not be able to get final exam opt outs until all balances are paid in full.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Report cards will be emailed on Wednesday, January 3rd.  Students return to school on thursday, January 4th. The office will be closed during the holidays.  Please email me if you need anything.

Any student who would like to join the bowling team second semester, please refer to the attached flyer from Mr. Phillips.

Girls’ basketball team is in action at Parkview on Monday and then play in the Pink & White Tournament December 27-30.  The boys are busy at home on Tuesday, Thursday & Friday.  Coach Larson will donate $1.00 for every student who attends the Thursday night game to cheer on the Irish!  The Tuesday night game is a big game against Marshfield, so hope you attend if you do not have finals the next day!   The boys will play in the Blue & Gold December 26-29.

The SCHS wrestling team has a match on Tuesday in El Dorado Springs and then again on Wednesday at Blair Oaks.  The next match will be on January 2nd at Parkview.

Again, students do not need to dress in uniform for final exams but should dress appropriate for school.  Please remind your students to leave cell phones and chromebooks  in their lockers during finals.  The cafeteria will be open on Wednesday and Thursday for breakfast & lunch.

Please keep the following people in your prayers:  Anna Smith, Mrs. Angela Cave & Mrs. Analita Coulter.  Several people have asked me where to send cards to Anna Smith.  Her address is below.

On behalf of the faculty and staff, I would like to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.  Please be safe and remember to keep the holidays simple.  You all remain in my prayers over the holidays.

Blessings of Peace & Joy,
